Terms of use
Last updated September 24, 2026.
These terms cover your use of roctoteandgo.com. Rentals themselves are covered by the rental agreement, and what we do with your information by the privacy policy.
Using this site
You may use this site to learn about our service, book totes, manage your booking, and use the tags on the totes you've rented. Don't misuse it: no scraping at volume, no attempts to break or probe it, no false bookings, no guessing other people's codes or card numbers.
Booking and paying
Inside our free delivery zone you pay by card at checkout and the booking is confirmed when the payment goes through. Outside it, or when a mileage fee has to be worked out first, the form sends us a request; the booking is confirmed when we tell you it is and payment is received. Very large orders are also saved as a request and confirmed by a person within a few hours. Dates are subject to availability. Prices, tax and the refundable deposit are shown before you pay.
Payments and verification
Payments are by card through Stripe. Every payment is sent for 3D Secure, so your bank may ask you to confirm it in its app or by a code; this protects you and us against stolen cards. Larger orders (packages of 70 totes or more, office packages, and a few other cases such as a billing address that doesn't match the delivery address on a first booking) include a quick identity check after payment: a government ID and a selfie on your phone, run by Stripe Identity. We confirm delivery once it passes. If it can't be completed, we cancel and refund the booking in full. Returning customers with a clean record skip the check.
Deposits
Every booking carries a refundable deposit that slides with the package and the extras, shown on the packages page and again before you pay. It is charged with the rental as its own line, with no sales tax on it, and refunded to the same card within 5 business days of pickup, less any charges under the rental agreement. Discount codes, credits and gift cards never apply to the deposit.
Account status
Customers who return equipment clean and on time may be marked trusted, which skips the identity check on later bookings; that status is ours to give and take back. A customer with an open card dispute, or with equipment that was never returned or paid for, cannot book online until it's resolved.
Prices
We work to keep prices and details accurate. If something is listed wrong, we'll tell you before you pay and you can cancel at no cost.
Your account
You sign in with a link we email you. Anyone with that link, or with a phone you've unlocked, can see your booking and packing list, so keep them to yourself. Tell us if you think someone else has access and we'll sign everyone out.
Discount codes, referrals and credits
- A code is applied to a booking before you pay and counts once the booking is paid. Each code has its own rules (who it's for, how many times, until when) and the form tells you if a code can't be used and why.
- Your personal referral code gives a new customer a discount on their first booking and earns you a credit when their totes are delivered. Credits are applied automatically to your next booking, never to the deposit, expire 12 months after they're issued, and have no cash value. We may decline a referral that looks like someone referring themselves, and take back a credit if the referred booking is refunded in full within 30 days of delivery.
- Credits and codes can't be sold or transferred. A partner's code (a realtor, mover or property manager) is theirs to hand out; using your own partner code on your own booking earns no commission.
Gift cards
If we offer gift cards, they never expire and have no fees. They're redeemable only at roctoteandgo.com toward tote rental packages and add-ons, never for cash and never for the refundable deposit. Sales tax is charged on the booking a card pays for, not on the card. A buyer can cancel an unopened, unused card within 24 hours of buying it. If a booking paid with a gift card is refunded, the gift card part goes back onto the gift card.
Tote tags and your packing list
The tags and labels on our totes open a page where you can write what's inside. What you write and photograph is yours; we store it so you can use it, and we don't read the photos. Staff can see your room list to help at delivery. The feature is provided as is: if a tag doesn't read, the label and your account give you the same page. When the rental ends, your list is kept in your account and removed from the totes.
Accessibility
We work to keep this site usable with a screen reader and at large text sizes, and we say what we've tested on our accessible moving page. If something doesn't work for you, tell us and we'll fix it or book for you over the phone.
Content
The ROC Tote & Go name, logo, text, and images belong to ROC Tote & Go and Total BS LLC. Don't reuse them without asking. You keep the rights to anything you write or photograph in your packing list.
Links
We sometimes link to other sites. We aren't responsible for their content or practices.
No warranty
This site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for damages arising from its use. Nothing here limits what the rental agreement says about the rental itself.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York.
Agreement versions
The rental agreement is versioned. The version you accepted at checkout, with the dollar amounts in force that day, is recorded on your booking and can be read at any time from your account; a later version never changes a booking already made.
