Red moving totes delivered to your door in Brighton and picked up when you are done. Free both ways. Flat package price.
Brighton moves tend to involve books, and a lot of them. A tote carries a shelf and a half without the bottom giving out, which is more than you can say for a liquor store box. We deliver free across Brighton, from Twelve Corners to the canal path.
Older colonials and tudors, plus apartments and condos along Monroe and East Avenues. Close to the University of Rochester and Strong, so we see plenty of medical residents and faculty moves.
Brighton sits on Rochester's southeastern border, with the Genesee River as its western boundary and Irondequoit, Penfield, Pittsford and Henrietta around the rest of it. The 2020 census counted 37,137 residents on 15.6 square miles, about 2,400 people per square mile. The town was formed in 1814 on Seneca homelands and named for Brighton in England. It started as a farming community and became a residential suburb, but it lost its center in 1905 when Rochester annexed the area around East Avenue and Winton Road, which had been the village of Brighton, and it has had no central village since. Irondequoit was split off from it in 1839.
What serves as the town center today is Twelve Corners, where Winton Road, Monroe Avenue and Elmwood Avenue cross and define twelve distinct corners. The Erie Canal runs through the town, followed by the Erie Canal Heritage Trail, one of the longest continuous stretches of maintained off-road trail in the United States. Monroe Community College's main campus, 300 acres at 1000 East Henrietta Road, opened here in 1968 and added the Alice Holloway Young residence halls in 2003; roughly 25,000 people take classes through the college each year. Residents shop at Pittsford Plaza and Eastview Mall just over the town lines, and a seasonal farmers market runs in the Golisano Institute lot off Westfall Road. The Brighton Central School District is a big reason families choose the town, and the high school was ranked 56th of more than 18,000 in the first U.S. News ranking in 2007.
Without a village, Brighton's homes spread along the roads running out from the city, on streets that filled in as the farms were sold off. Moves here are often families trading up or down within the school district, and the four MCC residence halls add a modest student turnover in late August and May. Totes suit a Brighton move because they stack in a hallway or garage without cardboard, ride in the back of a family car, and are picked up when you are done.
Brighton includes Monroe Community College's residence halls on East Henrietta Road, University of Rochester graduate housing on the South Campus, St. John's Meadows and The Summit at Brighton senior communities, and apartment communities such as Elmwood Manor on Lilac Drive and Brighton Colony Townhomes.
All of it, including Twelve Corners, Monroe Avenue, East Avenue, Meadowbrook, Home Acres, Clover Street and Elmwood Avenue. Zip codes 14618, 14610, 14620, 14623.
