Every ROC Tote & Go tote has a tag on the side. Tap it with your phone to log what you packed, find it later, and hand your movers a packing list. Works stacked, works in the dark, works with a screen reader.
How it works
Hold your phone to the side of the tote.
The tag sits low on the front wall, level with the printed number and the paper label. iPhone XS, XR and newer, and Android phones with NFC switched on, read it on their own when the screen is unlocked: a link pops up at the top of the screen. iPhone 7, 8 and X need a free NFC reader app open first, or the QR code on the label.
Tap the link.
The tote page opens in your browser. The first time, tap the link in your booking email to unlock it on that phone. After that, every tote opens ready to edit for the rest of your rental.
Write what is inside.
Pick the room, type the contents, mark it fragile or unpack-first, add a photo of the open tote. It saves as you type. Use Next to move down the stack without tapping again.
Find it later.
Search your packing list for "coffee maker" and it says which tote and which room. Print it, or share a read-only link with your movers.
Blind or low-vision?
Our totes speak.
Tap one and your phone reads the number, the room, and what's inside, in that order, with every control labelled for VoiceOver and TalkBack. Large-print mode is one tap. Large-print room labels for the totes are free: tick the box when you book, or ask us. Read about accessible moving.
No tag needed
The 3 x 5 paper label on the same wall is the pen-and-paper version. Write the room on it and you are done. The square code on it opens the same page if the tag ever fails.
Questions
Do I need an app?
No. Your phone reads the tag on its own and shows a link. Tap the link and the tote page opens in your browser.
Can the next renter see my list?
No. When your totes come back to us, your list is detached from them. You keep it in your account as a record; the totes forget it.
What if I don't want to use it?
Use the paper label on the side, in the same spot. Nothing about the rental needs the tag.
My phone does not read the tag. Now what?
Scan the square code on the label with your camera. It opens the same page. Or open your account and search for the tote number.
