Village homes, lakefront cottages and year-round lake properties.
Livonia is a town on the eastern border of Livingston County, with a village of the same name near its center. The town had 7,497 residents in the 2020 census and the village 1,472. The town developed between two Finger Lakes, Conesus and Hemlock, and takes its name from the Baltic province. Solomon Woodruff of Connecticut settled here in 1789 as the first European American in the area, and the town was established in 1808 from the town of Richmond. A railway built to Lakeville in the 1850s opened up business and travel, and so many families later moved west that Livonia, Michigan was named after this town. The town government describes Livonia as the western gateway to the Finger Lakes, with a small-town, rural atmosphere close to city amenities.
The village sits at the crossing of US 20A and Route 15, with Wilkins Creek running through its southwestern corner. Livonia Center is a mile and a half east on 20A, and Bosley Corner is farther east where 15A comes in. Lakeville, at the north end of Conesus Lake where the lake drains into Conesus Creek, sits on 20A and Route 15, and Rochester Road leads north from it to Interstate 390. Hemlock, in the southeast on 20A and 15A, holds the Hemlock Fairground, home of the Little World's Fair. South Lima sits on the Lima town line and South Livonia on Route 15. A chain of lakeside hamlets lines Conesus Lake: Sand Point, Tuxedo Park, Cedarcrest, Old Orchard Point, McPherson Cove, McPherson Point and Hartson Point, all part of the Conesus Lake census-designated place, which counted 2,270 people in 2020. Every July 3 the lake's residents light flares around the shore for the Ring of Fire.
Homes here fall into three groups. The village is compact, with 560 housing units in about a square mile at the 2000 census, many of them older houses on the streets off 20A and Route 15. The lake hamlets are strung along the shore roads, where the lake freezes hard enough in winter for snowmobiling and ice fishing and the summer season peaks with the flares of July 3. The rest of the town is open country between the two lakes. A lakeside move is usually done in short trips from a car or pickup, and totes that stack in a trunk and carry down to the water suit that far better than loose cardboard.
All of it, including Livonia Village, Lakeville, Conesus Lake, Route 15 and Route 20A. Zip codes 14487, 14480.

Yes. People search for plastic moving boxes, moving bins, moving crates and reusable moving boxes, and they all mean the same thing: a sturdy 27 x 17 x 12 inch container with an attached lid that stacks and rolls. We call them totes.
